The Artist Lab studio is open for rentals for your next corporate meeting, reception, rehearsal, audition, birthday party, family reunion, and everything in between.
If you are musician, band, vocalist, dancer, performing artist and/or performing arts group looking for an intimate performance venue, the Artist Lab at 1218 K Street in Downtown Modesto might be exactly what you are looking for!
We also welcome bookings from independent teaching artists who are looking for space to offer ongoing classes. The Artist Lab is the perfect location right in the heart of downtown Modesto, just a few steps away from the Prospect Theater Project.
RENTAL RATES & Info
The Artist Lab is happy to offer hourly rental rates for our Community Members, Local & Independent Artists, and Teaching Artists. Please review the breakdown of our rates, as well as the important info regarding rentals. *NOTE: “FULL DAY” typically means 8:00am – 11:00pm
Time needed for set-up and clear-out must be included in the total rental time. EXAMPLE: A group wants to hold a two-hour workshop, and they foresee needing 15-30 minutes to set up their materials and facilitate participant sign-ins, and 10-15 minutes after the workshop to clear out of the space; therefore they should book at least 2.5 hours to accommodate the 2-hour workshop and the time needed for setup, sign ins, and packing up.
30-MINUTE BUFFERS: To ensure that there is no overlap between separate rental requests, we will set 30-minute buffers between rentals. For example, if a rental was scheduled in the Artist Lab from 8:00am to 10:30am, the next available booking time that day would be 11:00am.

For Meetings, Seminars, Roundtable Discussions, Receptions, Gatherings, Soirees, Parties, etc.
RATE: $50/hour
MINIMUM: Must book a minimum of one hour.
*FULL DAY: $500 -
For Rehearsals, Auditions, or Workshops (One-day or Weekend).
RATE: $40/hour
MINIMUM: Must book a minimum of two hours per day.
*FULL DAY: $400
WEEKEND (Full Day Sat & Sun): $700 -
For Teaching Artists seeking space for ongoing classes.
RATE: $35/hour
MINIMUM: Must book a minimum of three classes; each class must be a minimum of two hours. Classes can be scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly (every other week), or monthly basis.
*FULL DAY: $300 (must book minimum of three classes at full day rate) -
Performance Event Rentals are not booked at an hourly rate. Performance events require more resources from PTP (like time, staffing, equipment, load-in and strike), and as such, they are priced based on the nature of the event and the resources required. Please fill out the interest form and we will be happy to provide you with an estimate for your performance event rental.
