“Gaslight” - Based on the 1944 American psychological thriller film directed by George Cukor and adapted for radio by Lux Radio Theater in 1946, “Gaslight” follows a young woman whose husband slowly manipulates her into believing that she is descending into insanity.

Detour
A world premiere play by Nick Zagone. A man on the run sits down at the counter of a diner . . . but as he tells his story, something just isn't adding up. What really happened to the man he hitched a ride with on his way to California, and was the femme fatale really the sinuous snake he made her out to be? Based on the 1945 film and the 1939 novel, Detour, this world premiere adaptation by Nick Zagone brings everything audiences love about film noir to the stage.

This year’s December cavalcade will feature two episodes filled with holiday memories: “Father Knows Best: Christmas Program”, precursor to the classic “Father Knows Best” television program, and “A Christmas Memory”, based on Truman Capote’s short story.

Lunar Eclipse
The last time there was a lunar eclipse, George and Em were fresh out of high school, unmarried, with life's possibilities stretching out before them as they watched the night sky. Now, several decades later, as the earth's shadow engulfs the moon once more, they look back at their life together and the waning years that await them.
PTP's Radio Cavalcade: Meet Me in St. Louis
Set in turn-of-the-century Missouri, “Meet Me in St. Louis” is a nostalgic musical that follows the well-to-do Smith family over the course of a year as they eagerly anticipate the 1904 World’s Fair. The story is told through seasonal vignettes, centering on the romantic pursuits of the teenage Esther Smith who falls for the boy next door, and the mischievous antics of her youngest sister, Tootie. Their idyllic life is suddenly threatened when their father announces a job promotion that requires the family to relocate to New York City, leading to emotional upheaval as the children face leaving their beloved home.

Circle, Mirror, Transformation
In a multipurpose room in New England, four students and their instructor meet weekly for an adult creative drama class. Seemingly simple theatre games quickly turn strangers into something more, as they explore vulnerability, empathy, and connection. Starring Kathleen Ennis as Marty, the instructor, and directed by Molly Souza, Circle Mirror Transformation is a powerful, tender love-letter to the human spirit.
PTP's Radio Cavalcade: Action & Adventure
April’s noir cavalcade brings two episodes full of action and adventure! In “Boston Blackie: Blackie and the Fur Trade” from a popular 1940s-1950s radio mystery series featuring a reformed jewel thief and safecracker, Horatio Black (often just Blackie) uses his underworld knowledge to solve crimes. In “The Adventures of Philip Marlowe: Lady in Mink”, Marlowe is hired to locate a "mixed-up girl" who has threatened to take her own life. The search is complicated by hazardous weather, but the situation quickly escalates beyond a simple missing persons case.

Lysistrata
The city-states of Greece are at war, with no end in sight, and the women have had enough - particularly Lysistrata! She has a foolproof plan to bring the senseless, ceaseless fighting to an end, but it will only work if the rest of the women of Greece commit to it . . . but can they really give up sex long enough for the men to lay down their arms for good? Co-directed by Laura Dickinson-Turner and Lisa Townsend, this new adaptation of Aristophanes' classic anti-war play is racy and rambunctious - and as timely as it has ever been.

1984 Read-a-Thon
The Stanislaus County Commission for Women and Prospect Theater Project invite you to the 1984 Read-A-Thon, where volunteers will spend the day reading Orwell’s classic novel, 1984, out loud. This is a free event, with no RSVP required. Come and stay as long as you want. Leave and come back later. Or if you’ve got the stamina, stay and listen all day!

“Our Miss Brooks” - Miss Brooks is an English teacher who has a low paying job, a lousy boss, a crush on a fellow teacher, and whose student drives her to school.
“My Friend Irma” - A dizzy blonde and her level-headed roommate have man trouble when the former's beau begins promoting a would-be singer.

Present Laughter
Present Laughter unfolds over the course of two weeks in the life of Garry Essendine, a popular stage actor preparing to embark on a touring production in Africa – unless his impending mid-life crisis and habit of getting entangled with admirers manage to tie him up at home indefinitely! Luckily for Garry, his whip-smart secretary, doting valet, and sarcastic-yet-patient ex-wife are there to take matters in hand.
Like in any great farce, Present Laughter has plenty of doors, multiple misunderstandings, and sidesplitting wordplay delivered as only the great Noel Coward can.

THE Maltese Falcon
In this noir classic, detective Sam Spade gets more than he bargained for when he takes a case brought to him by a beautiful but secretive woman. As soon as Miss Wonderly shows up, trouble follows as Sam's partner is murdered and Sam is accosted by a man demanding he locate a valuable statuette. Sam, entangled in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue, soon realizes he must find the one thing they all seem to want: the bejeweled Maltese falcon.

TALKING GHOSTS
Talking Ghosts craft the kind of curious, cinematic music that feels beamed in from a forgotten corner of the underworld. The five-piece conjures ghost-folk, surf goth, and garage psych into something shadowy and surprisingly danceable — weaving songs from the echoes of what haunts them.
STRANGE VINE
Strange Vine's earthy, energetic music is a fusion of blues, psychedelic, and traditional American rock. It's a sound born of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, from two men who were raised there. Ian Blesse plays drums and Rhodes piano (simultaneously), while Toby Cordova fleshes out the songs with a rotating arsenal of guitars (including one made from a cigar box). Both contribute vocals toward a rich, layered sound that's greater than the sum of its parts.

Stop Kiss
Callie is a traffic reporter who’s lived in New York for over ten years. Sarah is a Midwesterner who just moved to the city for a teaching fellowship. The mismatched pair strike up an unlikely friendship that starts developing into something more – until a sudden, violent act of intolerance shatters everything. This provocative, moving play is as captivating today as it was when it premiered in 1998 with Jessica Hecht and Sandra Oh in the leading roles.

THE BACHELOR AND THE BOBBY-SOXER
Artist playboy Dickie Nugent appears before beautiful judge Margaret Turner for fighting at a nightclub, and charms her into dismissing the charge. That same day, Dickie happens to lecture at a high school, where Margaret's teenage sister, Susan, falls head-over-heels for him. Things get complicated when Susan sneaks away and is found in Dickie's apartment, and downright zany when he is court ordered to date the teen as a way of easing her attraction.
