1984 READ-A-THON: MAKE ORWELL FICTION AGAIN!

The Stanislaus County Commission for Women and Prospect Theater Project invite you to the 1984 Read-A-Thon, where volunteers will spend the day reading Orwell’s classic novel, 1984, out loud. This is a free event, with no RSVP required. Come and stay as long as you want. Leave and come back later. Or if you’ve got the stamina, stay and listen all day!

There are still a few slots available for those who would like to read. Each slot is 15-20 minutes long. Readers who sign up in advance will have a PDF of their section emailed to them so they can prepare. Sign-ups will also be available at the event, in case a standby reader is needed or a slot is still open. As part of this event, there will also be a bunch of cool stuff happening in PTP’s Artist Lab on July 18th - such as making banners with Stanislaus Visibility Brigade, buying copies of 1984 and other related literature/merch from Bookish, or getting a Chris Garcia 1984-inspired original screen-print!
